Inspireurope Thessaloniki Conference

On behalf of the AUTh team for the InspirEurope: Supporting Researchers at Risk Initiative, we are pleased to invite you to the 2nd Outreach Workshop, which will be held on September 30, 2020 in Thessaloniki, Greece (venue: Aristotle University Research Dissemination Center-KEDEA)

Due to COVID-19 restrictions the Workshop will be held in a hybrid form (physical presence and online).

In accordance to the health protective measures, participation on-site (physical presence) is limited to 45 persons. Participants wishing to attend the Workshop on-site are kindly asked to read the relevant information and instructions

Update, 14.9.2020 Seats remaining for on-site participation are now very limited.  Online attendance is highly recommended for new registrations.

The Workshop aims to increase awareness with key stakeholders in Greece and surrounding countries of opportunities to get involved in activities to support researchers at risk. It, also, aims to discuss effective ways to support researchers at risk in their effort to continue their academic/professional career in safe work environments in Greece and in the rest of Europe, either in the academic or in the non-academic sector.

Towards these aims, the Workshop will bring together academics, HEI representatives, NGOs, national/EU representatives, representatives of professional/industry Associations and researchers at risk along with the other project partners to share experience, information on existing support/funding programs and good practices and to promote cooperation across Europe in support of researchers at risk. 

The official language of the Workshop is English.

Further to the September Workshop, on October 12th, SAR Europe (hosted at Maynooth University in Ireland) in cooperation with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, will hold an online meeting on developing a Scholars at Risk (SAR) section in Greece for interested higher education institutions , NGOs, government representatives, and individuals. The meeting will be held at 02:00 PM in Athens
